![]() Since I have a laptop I open and close the lid a lot when moving from one place to another. ![]() Hey This is quite a little interest on mine. Does anyone know a simpler way to enable sleep on lid close without having to keep InsomniaX open at all times? Once I close it, sleep on lid close does not happen. Notifying the user of Desktop API through the backdoor works differently than the normal course of action which is to notify the user of an access attempt and prompt the user for permission. Furthermore, no mention is made in the 'Manage API Clients' list. In the case of the backdoor no such notification attempt is made and as such the user is not given the opportunity to deny access. Indeed, this possibility seems even more likely when you consider that the Desktop API provides for an undocumented client name identifier (namely 'Skype Dashbd Wdgt Plugin'). ![]() This only happens if InsomniaX is open.Īn interesting possibility is that this bug is the result of a backdoor entered into the Desktop API to permit a particular program written by the vendor to access the Desktop API without user interaction. I searched up a program called InsomniaX which contains Insomnia.kext, which does the exact OPPOSITE of what I need - disables sleep on lid close.īut what it DOES do is this - if I open InsomniaX and select 'Disable Insomnia,' then sleep on lid close works. But when I close the lid, nothing happens. After a successful installation (and after 10 unsuccessful installations) of iATKOS 5i on my Dell Inspiron 9300, I am now up and running 10.5.7 with QE/CI, audio, wireless, all the goodies.
